Trauma is your body’s response to a deeply distressing event which overwhelms your ability to cope, causes feelings of helplessness and alters the way your brain processes emotions and recalls memories .
Frequently Asked Questions
If you constantly feel anxious or irritable or alternatively feel withdrawn , helpless and shut down, your nervous system is almost certainly dysregulated. In your physical body you may experience nausea , headaches, vertigo, gut related issues, a lack of energy, insomnia and the list goes on . These are all signs of nervous system dysregulation. Every system of the body is affected when the nervous system is “out of whack”.
It’s up to you! I recommend fortnightly for about 6 sessions initially or until you think you have a good grasp on the “tools” necessary to “manage” your anxiety or depression (nervous system regulation) and then as you feel you need a “top up” session!
Reflexology stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system and effects our heart rate , digestion and overall relaxation. It compliments my other therapies because it also helps to calm the nervous system.
We have over 7,000 nerve endings in our feet. These nerves correlate with with the various organs in our bodies, therefore when we stimulate the acupressure points on the feet it increases energy flow to one or multiple organs. Qi (energy ) flows through our bodies but may become stuck or blocked due to stress. Reflexology can rebalance the energy flow. I highly recommend it as a self care modality.
Fortnightly is perfect timing , alternating one therapy with the other however if that is not do-able for you , monthly is also good ! Just like exercise , yoga, meditation and being in nature , massage and reflexology are best if had on a regular basis in order to obtain maximum benefits!

No, there are other services especially for children.
No. My massage is therapeutic and aimed at helping to calm your nervous system. It can be light or firm but not so deep that it hurts as that is counterproductive to the outcome which is relaxation.
For remedial massage I refer clients to a sports massage therapist, Physio or Osteopath.
No but my fee reflects that . I charge the same as what you would pay out of pocket if you have private health or a mental health referral ie. approx $80-$90.
